Ohms Law
Mathematics

This tutorial will explain the most basic and most used equation in electronics, Ohms Law. Ohms Law proves that voltage, resistance and current are related and that each one will change value depending on one of the other values. The Ohms Law formula is:

V=IR

Basic formula transposition allows us to redesign the formula. It's variants are V/I=R and V/R=I.
So, in relation to Fig.1:

To find out Current (I):
Equation: V/R=I
Equation filled in: 5V/1Kohm=0.005A
Current in engineering form: 5mA

To prove Voltage (V):
Equation: IR=V
Equation filled in: 0.005A*1000R=5V

To prove Resistance (R):
Equation: V/I=R
Equation filled in: 5V/0.005A=1000R
